Jennifer Thompson’s Sandbox

I would like to start out my Sandbox Unit on “Computer Rules” for my classroom. The population of students I teach often display inappropriarte behaviors, like loud vocalizations, “busy hands” (pounding on the keyboard, clicking on the mouse too much, and touching the screen), non-compliance, and aggressive behaviors when they are transitioning off the computer. I think it is extremely important to master these basic skills before moving onto more complex objectives. By laying out the guidelines I plan on creating a base for a successful experience when navigating through technology on the computer. After they have mastered this skill and generalized it to other areas. I would love to introduce a typing, reading, and math programs.
